Collegiate and high school cross country teams will range over Southern Arkansas University Friday and Saturday during the ninth-annual Lois Davis Invitational Cross Country meet.

This is the only home event for the SAU cross country team.

College runners will take to the women’s 5K and men’s 8K courses on Friday afternoon. Women will run at 5:30 p.m. and men will run at 6 p.m.

Junior high and high school teams will run on Saturday. High school girls will run at 9 a.m. Boys will run at 9:30 a.m. Junior high girls will run at 10 a.m. Junior high boys will run at 10:30 a.m.

Coaches may run as many runners as they wish. However, a team's top five runners will score, and the sixth and seventh runners will be counted as displacers. All other runners will be excluded from team scoring.

The courses are located on the east side of the SAU campus, starting from the area behind the W.T. Watson Athletic Center.

Trophies will be awarded to the top ten finishers in each race, and top team in each race.

The event is named in memory of Lois Davis. She was an SAU sophomore, band member and Dean’s List student from Richland, TX. She died in an automobile accident while leaving campus at the end of the spring 2011 semester.
