Lexington Hilton, a freshman from Green Forest, led Southern Arkansas cross country runners during a meet in Conway.

CONWAY – The Southern Arkansas men's cross country team opened its 2019 season Saturday at the UCA XC Challenge, finishing third as a team behind host Central Arkansas and Arkansas-Little Rock.

Freshman Lexington Hilton, making his collegiate debut, finished in eighth place, just 33.3 seconds off the pace of first place.

Sophomore Rob Kraus and Anthony Vasquez tallied 20th and 21st-place finishes, as all point-winners for the Muleriders were either freshmen or sophomore.

The Muleriders are back in action next Friday in Arkadelphia.

The 6K course at Beaverfork Lake attracted 105 runners from 13 colleges and universities.
