ALVA, OK – The Southern Arkansas volleyball team was kept at arms’ length through two sets Friday by Northwestern Oklahoma, while the host Rangers claimed the third set 31-29.
The match in Alva was the first half of a two-game swing through Oklahoma for the Muleriders.
The Muleriders hit an impressive .325 in the third set, tallying 20 of their 34 kills in the set.
Seven Powers led the attack for the Muleriders, hitting .212 on the night while recording a joint-game high 12 kills.
Morgan Gross and Gabby Thrower each recorded eight kills, with Gross hitting .263.
Bailey Cagle, recording five kills, also blocked a game-high six blocks.
Bailey Kirk led the team in digs with eight, just ahead of Powers with seven and Alana Perez and Kayley Davis, who both recorded six.
The Muleriders finish their Oklahoma swing on Saturday morning in Weatherford against Southwestern Oklahoma.
