The Great American Conference announced the league’s first golfers of the week for the 2019 season. Oklahoma Baptist’s Dakota Clark and Southern Arkansas’ Roman Timmerman shared the men’s honor while Harding’s Julie Fierro and Henderson State’s Karen Lee split the women’s award.

GAC CO-MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Dakota Clark, Oklahoma Baptist, junior, Owasso, Oklahoma

Clark tied for first place at the GAC Preview as he carded rounds of 3-under par 69, 2-under 70 and a 5-under 67 in the final round to shoot 10-under par at the 54-hole event. He made a tournament-leading 19 birdies and played the par 5 holes in 12-under par. He overcame a four-shot deficit to tie for medalist honors.

GAC CO-MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Roman Timmerman, Southern Arkansas, junior, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Timmerman joined Clark atop the individual leaderboard at the GAC Preview. He led the Muleriders to their second-straight team title at the event. He shot matching 4-under 68s in the opening two rounds and followed up with a 2-under 70 in the final round. He led the field in par 4 scoring and also went 10-under on the par 5s.

GAC CO-WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Julie Fierro, Harding, freshman., Plottier, Argentina

Fierro paced the Lady Bisons at the Northeastern State Women's Golf Classic by tying for third place. After shooting a 5-over par 77 in the opening round, the improved in round two with a 2-over 74 to move up 11 places. The Lady Bisons tied for fourth in the 14-team event.

GAC CO-WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Karen Lee, Henderson State, freshman., Southlake, Texas

Lee shot rounds of 3-over-par 75 and 4-over 76 to join Fierro in tie for third place in the 75-player Northeastern State Women's Golf Classic. Lee's performance helped lift the Reddies finish as runners-up for the second-straight event. She has produced a 75.75 stroke average in her first two collegiate events.
