The sixth-annual Mulerider Club Kickoff event will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 6 at the Story Barn east of Magnolia.
Southern Arkansas University’s Department of Athletics has partnered with Farmers Bank & Trust for the event.
The supper serves as the official start to the 2019-20 athletic year at SAU. It features a sit-down dinner that will include burgers, chips and dessert, season previews provided by fall coaches, and a meet-and-greet session with various members of the SAU athletic department and Mulerider Club Advisory Board members.
"We are excited to have Farmers Bank & Trust back as our main sponsor for our annual Mulerider Club Kickoff event," said SAU Director of Athletics Steve Browning. "Our community provides unwavering support for Mulerider Athletics and we are eager to begin the 2019-20 athletic year with this event serving as the kickoff."
"We have seen continual growth as an athletic department and that is evident in Mulerider Athletics obtaining its highest finish ever in the Great American Conference All-Sports Trophy standings," said Browning. "This overall upward trend would not be possible without the improvement and growth of our Mulerider Club as well. Our Mulerider Club is vital to assuring that we are able to continually provide the best possible experience for our student-athletes."
Speakers will include head coaches of the fall sports at SAU with football coach Bill Keopple, first-year volleyball coach Lindsey Partridge, and cross country coach Tim Servis, all speaking on behalf of their programs and in advance of their seasons.
Additionally, Terry "Bo" Ray will be introduced as the new Mulerider Club Advisory Board Chair.
