The Southern Arkansas women’s cross country team, hosts of the 9th Annual Lois Davis Invitational on Friday, finished second overall as four Mulerider runners finished in the top 11 overall.
Grambling's Naomi Kipror set a new meet record as she crossed the finish line first with a time of 17:36.3.
Carley Hale was the top Mulerider runner on the night with a time of 18:34.3. That mark represents a career-high for the junior as well as the 7th-best time ever run at the Lois Davis.
Three Muleriders – Karly Anderson, Alyssa Solis and Cecilia Quesada – crossed the finish line consecutively from ninth through 11th. Anderson, in ninth-place, set a new career-best 5K time of 18:51.3.
Tenth-place Solis and 11th-place Quesada crushed their previous career-best by almost two and one minutes, respectively, as Solis finished with a time of 18:54.8 and Quesada, 18:59.4.
Five of the six remaining Mulerider runners set career-best times as well.
The Muleriders are in action in two weeks' time at the Great American Conference Championship Meet in Arkadelphia.
A total of 67 women took part in the meet.
