Hunter education

Logoly State Park will sponsor a hunter education course this weekend.

It is state law for any person born after December 31, 1968 to have successfully completed an approved hunter education course before hunting in the state of Arkansas.

Logoly State Park near McNeil is offering a hunter education course September 7-8.

On Saturday, September 7, class will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. with an hour break for lunch. The Sunday, September 8, class begins at 1 p.m. and ends at 5 p.m.

People must attend all scheduled classes and pass the final exam to complete the course. The course includes classes in firearm safety, wildlife management, sportsmanship, bow hunting, muzzle loading, first aid, and more.

The course is recommended for individuals 11 years of age and up. It is offered free of charge but class size is limited so pre-registration is required.
