Kinslee Keopple of Magnolia was recently chosen as part of the TOPs (Talent Opportunity Program) training group.

Kinslee Keopple, age 7, the daughter of Landon and Dana Keopple of Magnolia, is training more than 20 hours a week in hopes of becoming an elite gymnast.

She attends Columbia Christian School and goes to gymnastics at North East Texas Elite in TEXarkana.

Kinslee was recently chosen as part of the TOPs (Talent Opportunity Program) training group.

TOPs is a talent search and educational program for female gymnasts ages 7-10 who are working to be elite gymnasts.

During the months of June and July, gymnasts ages 7-10 are evaluated on physical abilities and skills at the state level

and regional level. Scores are sent in from all over the country. The top 50 seven-year-olds are named as the Diamond team, and the top 100 girls ages 8-10 are invited to the national testing. The national testing will be in October in Indianapolis.

The ages are based on calendar years. Although Kinslee will be 7 at national testing, she will test as an 8-year-old.

All 300 girls will be working to make the National A or B teams – a total of 100 young women. The girls who make these teams will get to attend a camp and work with the national team coaches.
