Four boys from the Magnolia-area were recently selected as All-Americans by the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA).
They will represent the Southeast Region in the national baseball tournament to be held in Florida later this summer.
Gage Klober is a catcher and pitcher for 10U Southwest Athletics, a AAA 10U team from Magnolia, and will represent the 10U Southeast team in Florida. Gage will enter 5th grade in Camden and is the son of Josh and Crissy Klober.
Jackson Teutsch is the son of Chris and Dana Teutsch. Jackson will represent the 10U Southeast team in Florida. He plays third base and outfield and is a teammate of Gage Klober on the Southwest Athletics. He will enter 5th grade at Central Elementary in the fall.
Cade Browning will represent the 13U Southeast team. Cade plays second base for Southern Attitude, an area team that was recently promoted to AAA classification. Cade will enter the ninth grade at Magnolia Junior High in the fall and he is the son of Steve and Brandy Browning.
Dalen Blanchard will enter the ninth grade at Magnolia Junior High and will represent the 14U Southeast team. He is a utility player, but his primary position is catcher for his team, Arkansas Showcase, a 14-Major team from Benton. He also plays in a Dixie Majors league with Texarkana Red Sox. This is Dalen's second consecutive year to make the All-American team. He is the son of Toby and Amanda Blanchard.
USSSA All-American baseball teams are chosen from the top players across the nation.
The US in broken into eight regions (Far West, Northwest, Central, Midwest, Northeast, Atlantic, Great Lakes and Southeast). Each region holds showcase events to select the top players in each region for their team. Arkansas in the Southeast region, which conducted three showcase events; one in Austin, TX, one Lafayette, LA, and one in North Little Rock. The boys attended the showcase event in North Little Rock on May 29.
Each regional team will travel to Viera, FL, June 28-August 3 to the Space Coast Complex to compete in the All-American Games where one team will walk away as the National Champion.
