Russ Phillips

Russ Phillips, a Southern Arkansas University graduate, has been named offensive coordinator for the Hendrix Warriors.

CONWAY -- After serving as the offensive line coach for more than four months, Russ Phillips will serve as the offensive coordinator for the Hendrix Warriors.

Phillips is a native of Roanoke, TX. He is a 1995 graduate of Southern Arkansas University, receiving a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology.

He started his coaching tenure at Lewisville (TX) High School where he spent 13 years, including the final four seasons as offensive coordinator.

Following his time at Lewisville, Coach Phillips obtained a head coaching opportunity at a 2-A high school in Ponder, TX. He coached there three years before claiming a coaching position at Denton Guyer High School in Denton, TX.

In just his first season at Denton Guyer, Coach Phillips led the Wildcats to its second straight 4A Division I Texas High School State Championship following a 31-14 victory over Brennan High School in the title game.

After his tenure at Denton Guyer, Coach Phillips coached the running backs and served as the head strength and conditioning coordinator at Southlake Carroll High School, a high school football powerhouse in the state of Texas.

Hendrix finished the 2018 football season with a 2-8 record, beating Lyon and Rhodes. It lost four games by a touchdown or less. The Warriors plays football in the Southern Athletic Association, an NCAA Division III league.
