Christine Upchurch Hill, 98, passed away on Thursday, July 11, surrounded by her loving family. She joined her husband in Heaven on his birthday.
Christine was born on March 2, 1921, in Queen City, TX, to Jessie Monroe Upchurch and Mattie Lou Green Upchurch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Clyde Hill; four sons, Troy, Daniel, Bobby and infant James Paul; five brothers, two sisters and granddaughter, Charlotte Downing.
Christine is survived by sons, Raymond (Julia) Hill, of Bossier City, LA, Caleb (Linda) Hill of Haughton, LA and David (Jane) Hill of Magnolia; daughter, Margaret Hill Stephenson (Dewayne) of Benton, LA; sister, Juanita Wilson of Queen City, TX; one brother, George Upchurch of Genoa, AR; grandchildren, Kim (Winfried) Dixon, Randy (Robin) Hill; Becky (Kerry) Jeffers, Wayne Stephenson, Rev. Donavon (Valerie) Hill, Carrie Hill, Kevin (Dannielle) Hill, Chris Hill, Shannon (Kevin) Brewer, and Jonathan (Aimee) Hill; 18 great- grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
A special thanks to her caregivers in recent weeks, Edna Caldwell, Patricia Parker and the staff of Encompass Hospice.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Magnolia under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 12:30-2 p.m. at the Church. Officiating will be grandson, Rev. Donavon Hill, pastor of LifePoint Church in Prairieville, LA, assisted by Rev. John Howell of North Rock, AR, in the absence of her pastor, Rev. Gary Becton, who is ill.
