Eurice McDuffie Lewis, 84, of Stamps passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Wadley Regional Medical Center in TEXarkana.
Eurice McDuffie Lewis was born on April 20, 1935, to Alexander and Maudie McDuffie. She was a faithful member of Greenville Baptist Church, until her mother’s health failed. She worked in the home providing personal care to the elderly.
Eurice McDuffie Lewis united in holy matrimony to Mr. L.C. Smith, and to this union three children were born, Mary Smith Gillard, Gloria Smith Gillard and Dawney Ray Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, McKinley Lewis; two children, Gloria J. Gillard and Dawney R. Smith; and three brothers, Leonard McDuffie, Jeremiah McDuffie and S.B. McDuffie.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Mary J. Gillard of Stamps; one brother, William (Betty) McDuffie of TEXarkana; four sisters, Arzonia (George) Gardner, Arzola White and Eunice Ransom, all of Houston, and Eunie Dennis of Denver; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 18 at R.L. Reed Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia with burial to follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC of Magnolia.
Officiating will be Rev. Mark McNeil.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 17 at the funeral home.
