Bernard Dean Thomas

Funeral services for Bernard Dean Thomas will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2019, at R. L. Reed Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia.

Bernard Dean Thomas, 60, of Magnolia departed this life on Thursday, August 1, 2019, at Magnolia Regional Medical Center.

Bernard was born in Fort Smith on August 8, 1958 to the late Flossie (Biddle) and Paul Thomas.

Preceding him in death were his parents; grandparents, Bessie and Lannie Biddle and Alto and Jessie Thomas; and two brothers, Jeffrey L. Taylor and Tommie E. Thomas.

Bernard became a member of the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Clarksville, TN and was baptized at an early age.

Bernard attended the Department of Defense Dependents Schools at Fort Knox, KY and Fort Campbell, KY. He graduated from Fort Campbell High School in 1976, and later studied at Western Kentucky University, in Bowling Green, KY.

Bernard worked for Alumax and Alcoa manufacturing companies in Magnolia during his career. He spent his last few years prior to retirement working for Sapa. His positions included buffer operator, anodizing line and press operator.

Bernard leaves cherished memories with his two daughters, Ashley Thomas of Houston, Texas, and Roxstasia Willingham of Little Rock; five brothers, Attorney Edward Taylor of Detroit, James (Maria) Thomas and Dr. Demetrius (Mary) Thomas, all of Clarksville, TN, Donald Thomas of Emerson, Frederick (Sarah) Thomas of Seattle, WA; two sisters; Jocelyn Green of Kansas City, KS, and Jacqueline King of Lawton, OK; two aunts, Geneva (Lester) Walker of Las Vegas, NV, and Dorothy Thomas of Evansville, IN; one uncle, Carnell (Gloria) Thomas of Emerson, a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2019, at R. L. Reed Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Emerson under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC in Magnolia.

Viewing and visitation will be at R.L. Reed Funeral Home from noon to 4:30 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2019.
