Deacon Hertis Lee Hartsfield, 69, of McNeil passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at his residence.
He was born July 6, 1950 in Magnolia to Calvin William Hartsfield and Vera Armstrong-Hartsfield.
He was a 1968 graduate of Southside High School in McNeil.
Deacon Hartsfield was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church, in McNeil, where he served as a deacon, Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School teacher, choir member and Brotherhood member.
He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Bennie Hartsfield and Calvin Hartsfield; one sister, Betty Jean Hartsfield; and one grandson, Justin Fields.
Treasured memories will remain with his devoted wife, Barbara Hartsfield; two sons, Tony (Sonya) Hartsfield and Chris Hartsfield of Magnolia; three daughters; Denise Hartsfield, Angelina Hartsfield and Aliyah Hartsfield, all of McNeil; one goddaughter, Tamieka Forte of Little Rock; mother, Vera Hartsfield of Kansas City, KS; two sisters, Wanda (Charlie) Porchia of Camden and Dorothy (Lonnie) Porchia of Stephens; four grandchildren and two god-grandchildren; four brothers-in-law, Otis (Hope) Ross, Robert Ross, Raymond (Debbie) Ross, Kenneth (Sheryl) Ross; four sisters-in-law, Sharon Ross-Carson, Latricia (Joseph) Allen, Latisha (Stafford) Conley and Gwen Weaver; a special friend; Rev. Michael Clayton; and aunts, uncles and a plethora of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be noon to 4:30 p.m. Friday at Reed Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2019, at Bethany Baptist Church in McNeil, Arkansas.
Burial will follow at Gatlin Cemetery in McNeil under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC, in Magnolia with Rev. Kenneth Ross officiating.
