Gladys Hubbard Hughey passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 10, 1930 in Stephens. She was the daughter of the late Eugene Hubbard and Ezell Dennis Hubbard, and second mother Ophelia Jones Hubbard.
Gladys accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and united with Harrison Chapel Baptist Church in Waterloo, Arkansas. Gladys was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved and supported her family.
Gladys was united in holy matrimony to the late Odie Hughey and to this union three children was born. She was predeceased by one of her sons, Theodis Hughey.
Survivors include two daughters, Chasia Hughey Morehead of Stephens and Mary Ellen Hughey (Shaffen) Smith of Camden; granddaughter, Vivian L. Morehead (Emmanel) Okanume of Little Rock; grandson, Marcus Andres Smith of Camden; great-grandchildren Amalachuwu Okanume, Tobechukwu Okanume and Kenechukwu Okanume, all of Little Rock, Arkansas; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and close friends Loran Wade and Ann (Billy) Green of Camden.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Mount Vernon A.M.E. Church in Stephens.
Interment will follow in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Stephens.
Clergy will be the Rev. Allen Yarbrough.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, August 16 at Marks Funeral Home in Magnolia.
