Mary Frances Marshall died Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Tyler, TX.
She was born in Saratoga, Howard County, Arkansas, on January 16, 1949. She was the daughter of Samuel J. Davis and Maiselle Genchan. Reared by her maternal grandparents, she attended Howard County Training School in Tollette.
Making her name in Columbus, Arkansas, she married John Floyd Marshall. She bore a son, John Edwin Marshall and four years later a daughter, Frances Belinda Ann Marshall. She was a homemaker and later when the last of her two children began to attend elementary school gained employment as a teacher’s aide at Saratoga School. By the time she divorced, Mary had gained a position at Poulan/Weedeater in Nashville. She would work there a number of years before transferring to the smaller Husqvarna plant where she remained until retiring in 2014 at the age of 65.
She was a doting and proud grandmother of two grandsons, Kham’Ron Tyferious Orion Marshall and John Kolton Allen Marshall. In her spare time Mary enjoyed quilting, studying the Bible, and collecting new recipes. Generosity, kindness, understanding, and a big loving heart defined her as a person.
On the evening of May 8, 2019, Mary Frances Marshall departed this life at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Tyler.
She is survived by her two children; two grandsons; three brothers, Alvin, Kevin, and Mike; four sisters, Jean, Cathy, Kim, and Faye and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be sorely missed by our family and by those fortunate enough to have known her.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Harmony Cemetery in Saratoga. Interment will follow in Harmony Cemetery under the direction of Marks Funeral Home of Magnolia.
