Carolyn Taylor, 82, of Magnolia passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020 at The Springs of Magnolia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Magnolia.
Carolyn was born December 5, 1937 in Buckner to the late Samuel Brooks and Emma Lee (Nix) Lewis. She was a hairstylist and homemaker and devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Magnolia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Lee Taylor Jr.; daughters, Margaret Taylor Hewitt and husband Kenneth Lynn Hewitt, Lisa Kay Taylor Joslin; granddaughter, Kimberly Marie Mitchell; and brother, Ronald Lewis.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Barbara Taylor Mitchell and husband Rodger of Shongaloo, LA; grandchildren, Will Hewitt of Waldo, Haley Smith and husband Keith of Magnolia, Zac Joslin and wife Sommer of Magnolia, Heath Joslin and wife Janea of Emerson, Roger Sherman Mitchell and wife Lynette of Foreman, and Denise Mitchell of Shongaloo, LA; great-grandchildren A.J. Mitchell, Lydia Marie Smith, Riley Jo Joslin, and Luna Jewel Joslin; sisters, Norma Rudd of Waldo and Delores Sprayberry and husband Junior of Buckner; sister-in-law, Rosemary Lewis of Buckner; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Viewing and signing of the guest book will be from 1-7 p.m. Thursday, Jun 25 at Lewis Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Barlow Cemetery with Bro. Roger Dunlap officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., in Magnolia.
The family requests memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
