Ms. Kaquana Denetra Armstrong, 27, of Magnolia passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 in McNeil.
She was born October 27, 1991 to John Williams Armstrong Sr. and Sonya Denise Young-Armstrong in Magnolia.
At an early age, she joined St. John No. 2 Baptist Church in Waldo under the leadership of Rev. Sargent. Kaquana was a 2010 graduate of Magnolia High School. For nine years, she greeted customers with her infectious smile at the local Burger King. She was also employed with At Your Service (AYS) for one year.
She was a very hard-working young lady. Her strong work ethic was notable to anyone who encountered her at her place of employment. Her family, friends, and co-workers speak highly of her loving ways, smile, and laughter. Her light in this life will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kaquana was preceded in death by her grandparents, Linnie Mae Beasley, Martell Young, and James Willie Armstrong; and uncles, Christopher Young and Perry Beasley.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her treasured children, Kemiya Zarnae Armstrong, Karderian Marquiese Smith, and Eric Dontavious Sanerez Smith Jr.; special friend, Eric Smith Sr.; loving parents, Sonya Denise Armstrong and John William Armstrong; cherished sisters, Deneisha Armstrong, Kokeisha Armstrong, Quanisha Armstrong, Matonia (Donald) Armstrong Murray, Wendy Colvin, and Shalesa Wright; beloved brothers, John Armstrong Jr., Myron Colvin, Antarian Wright, Devonte Colvin, Anfernee Young, and Telvis Blake; dear grandmother, Gertha Young; adored aunts, Melinda Wright, Pearlene Walker, Devin Miller, Pamela Young, Beatrice Turner, Florence Moss; much-loved uncles, Anthony Young, Stanley Miller, Leon Armstrong, and Marvin Beasley; special best friend, Shardae Calton; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at Columbia District Auditorium in Magnolia. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Waldo under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home LLC of Magnolia.
Visitation will be noon-4:30 p.m. Friday at Reed Funeral Home.
