J.L. Click came into the world on October 20, 1942 and passed from this Earth at 8:21 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Leon Click; and his mother, Mertice Pauline Click.
J.L. never knew a stranger. He lived 76 years to their fullest and was known for his ability to make everyone feel special. He once drove his convertible into a grocery store and filled it full of cookies as a sales gimmick.
“The Cookie Man” or “Click” as he was called by his many friends, is survived by his loving and constant wife of 52 years, Lola; his children, Kim Roberts and husband Ricky of El Dorado, Kristie Reynolds and husband Deci of Parkers Chapel, and Jay Click and wife Tammi of Magnolia; seven grandchildren, Jordan Raley and husband Daniel, Chase Roberts and wife Chelsy, Matt Roberts and fiancée Lauren, Cody Russell and partner Marissa, Jackson Dison, Cameron Click, and Presley Click; and four great-grandchildren Collins Roberts, Chandler Roberts, Emmaline Raley, and Brady Russell; a brother, Randy Click of Colorado; and a sister, Janice McLaughlin of Magnolia.
We called him husband, daddy, papaw, and brother. Everyone else called him friend. The world is now a lonelier place without him.
The family is grateful for the care and compassion provided by the loving staff of Lifetouch in El Dorado.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Mock officiating.
Any memorials can be made to the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery fund or The John R. Williamson Hospice House.
