On Wednesday, July 29, 2020, Joan Magee Johnson was called to her Heavenly reward while at home in Garland City.
She began her Earthly life on August 12, 1942, as the second born of the union between Tom and Bertha Magee in Garland City. She was baptized and became a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor David Walters. After Joan’s retirement from Falcon Products, she became a housewife until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Bertha Magee; sister, Olivia Robinson; and brother, Perry Magee.
Joan Marie Magee-Johnson leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Clarence “C.J.” Johnson of the home; one son, Kenneth Johnson of Garland City; sister, Mary (Carl) Rose of Lewisville; grandchildren, Greg (Heather) Johnson of Lewisville, Kenneth (Dominique) Nash of Killeen, TX, Taniya Johnson and LaDarius Johnson of TexARKana; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
A graveside celebration of life was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Fair Haven Cemetery in TexARKana under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home. Rev. David Walters officiated.
