Trixie Virginia (Mayfield) Scott, 87, passed away May 25, 2019 in Houston, TX.
Trixie was born December 1, 1931 in Emerson, AR and resided in Lafayette, LA for 50 years. She loved quilting, crocheting, and crafts, gardening, word puzzles, bingo, horse racing, and drag racing with her kids, John Wayne movies, Mardi Gras, and road trips with her grandchildren. She was the family photographer and videographer. She worked at Riverside Inn in Lafayette, LA for 34 years, retiring at the age of 77.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie Garland and Pauline (Green) Mayfield; husband, Ernest Lee Scott; brothers, Garland and Dick Mayfield; sister, Jeannette Benefield and her son Terry Scott.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Scott; son, David Scott and wife Liz; grandchildren, Rachel Karstens and husband Chris, Daniel Cook and wife Kristene; great-grandchildren, Emma Cook and Giles Cook; brother, Dale Mayfield; and sisters, Margaret Fulton and Judy Hudman.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at the Western Missionary Church with burial following in the Western Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., in Magnolia. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 31 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jim Grant, Cody Hunter, Steve Mayfield, Alan Mayfield, and Shelia Mayfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Cook and David Scott.
