Elmer Gene “Mac” McWilliams, 77, of Magnolia passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at his home.
Elmer was born on December 9, 1942 in Magnolia. Elmer worked at the Army Ammunition Plant during the Vietnam War and worked as a mechanic and purchasing agent, retiring after 40 years from Reliance Well Service. He was the oldest member of the Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Jean (Story) Walthall, and stepfather, R.E. “Pete” Walthall and wife Dorothy Faye (Gatlin) McWilliams.
Elmer is survived by his sons, Stanley Lynn McWilliams and Steven Ray McWilliams (Wendy); daughter, Sheryl Scott (Will Davis); brother, David Lee McWilliams (Kay); sister, Kay Baker (David) all of Magnolia; grandchildren, Colton Scott (Alyssa), Bradon McWilliams, Caelyn Scott, Zane McWilliams, Hannah McWilliams, Ava McWilliams and Connor McWilliams; great grandchildren, Sutton Scott and Huxley Dauzat; special friend, Lori Fullenwider; stepbrothers, Rodney “Poochie” Walthall of Waldo and Bobby Walthall of Willisville.
A visitation and viewing will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., in Magnolia. Interment of ashes will be in the Philadelphia Cemetery.
