James C. Grissom, 55, of Magnolia passed away at his home Tuesday morning, August 4, 2020.
James Calvin Grissom born February 23, 1965 in Springhill, LA, to Gloria Dean Grissom and J.C. Grissom. He was a loving and kind person that everyone loved for his unique spirit and character. At an early age he became a member of Rocky Mountain Baptist Church. He was talented in many things in which we like to call a “Jack of all Trades.” He loved to work with his hands.
He gave his life to Christ at age 14 in baptism, while at Rocky Mountain Baptist Church.
James was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Grissom; his uncle, A.C. Grissom; grandmother, Stella Gilbert; niece, Demetria Webb; and aunt, Glenda Gaines.
He leaves to cherish his memory, children Dominique Grissom of McKinney, TX and Billy Ray McCaulley Sr. of TEXarkana; grandchildren, Anylia McCaulley and Billy Ray McCaulley Jr. of TEXarkana; siblings, Gloria Ann Rewis of Lewisville, Susie Ann Grissom of Stamps, Loria Ann Outlaw (Clay Outlaw) of Pensacola, FL; M.J. Grissom Sr. (Tisha Grissom) of TEXarkana, Ellis Ray Grissom Sr (Beverly Grissom) of TexARKana, and Keith Grissom of Pine Bluff; a special nephew, Robert Johnson (Renee Johnson) of Ruston, LA; and a host of nephews, nieces, great nieces and nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Friday at Reed Funeral Home of Magnolia.
A graveside celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Magnolia under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, anyone attending the graveside services must wear a mask.
