Sam Fitzgerald

Funeral services for Sam Fitzgerald will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lewis Chapel.

Sam Fitzgerald, 93, of Taylor passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the Summit Health and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor.

Sam was born March 6, 1926 in McKamie to the late Lee Walter and Nancy (Woods) Fitzgerald. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was formerly a heavy equipment operator for Pittman’s Nursery.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Fitzgerald; and siblings Roy, Bruce, Ernest, Troy “Doc,” and Josephine Fitzgerald.

Sam is survived by his children, Sammy Fitzgerald of Magnolia and Judy Barrett and husband Paul of Wharton, TX; granddaughters, Leslie Barrett of Dallas, TX and Ashley Barrett of Houston, TX; sisters, Imogene Ebarb of Shreveport, LA and Dorothy Martin of Magnolia; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2019 with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. at Lewis Chapel with Bro. Micah Carter officiating. Burial will be at the Bussey Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home Inc., in Magnolia.

The family requests memorial donations are sent to Bussey Cemetery, 740 Columbia Road 148, Waldo, AR 71770.
