Thurman Jackson, 82, of Magnolia passed away Friday, June 7, 2019, at his residence.
He was born May 9, 1937 to the Lonnie Jackson and Mary Green in McNeil. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Travis Jackson; and son, James Brown Jr.
He leaves to cherish his love and memories his loving wife, Valestene Jackson of Magnolia; daughter, Joyce Brown (Cedric) Porchia of Muskegon, MI; brother, Lonnie Jackson Jr. of Magnolia; four sisters, Willie Mae Green-Doss and Ever Jean Hughey, both of McNeil, Eva Mae House of Plano, TX, and Velma Brent of Layton, UT; three sisters-in-law, Charlotte (L.C) Jones, Mary (Elroy) Montgomery, and Diane Rowden, all of Magnolia; three brothers-in-law, Lloyd (Kay-Dorothy) Cooper Jr. of Magnolia, Herman Dean Cooper of Oceanside, CA, and Harold (Linda) Cooper of Muskegon, MI; and four grandsons, James Brown III and Kenneth Brown, both of Jackson, MS, and Christopher Evans and DeMarcus Evans, both of Muskegon, MI.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15 at R.L. Reed Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia.
Burial will follow at 23rd Psalms Cemetery in Magnolia, under the direction of R.L Reed Funeral Home.
Visitation will be noon to 4:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
