Charles "Peanut" Jones, 70, of Magnolia, Arkansas died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, Arkansas.
He was born on July 4, 1941 in Walkers Creek, Arkansas to the late Enoch Earl Jones Sr. and Lillian (Dingler) Jones and was also preceded in death by his sister, Sissy Finch.
Charles served his country for 29 years and retired as master chief in the United States Coast Guard. He was a loving husband to Nancy and a loving father to Janeen and Trish. He loved to hunt, fish, watch football games, and was a NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Jones of Magnolia; daughters, Janeen Garner and husband Glenn of Taylor, and Patricia Moery of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Chris Campbell of Taylor, Katie Campbell of Magnolia, Beth Moery and Patrick Moery, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three great-grandsons Micah Campbell, Matthew Griffin, and Cameron Griffin, all of Taylor; six brothers and sisters, Michael Jones and wife Laura of Magnolia, Bo Jones and wife Rose of Texas, Trisha Godwin and husband Jack of Texas, Billie Kirkpatrick of Mobile, Alabama, Sonny Boy Jones and wife Peggy of Texas, and Clell Jones of Taylor; and numerous, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 16 at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy Murphy officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., of Magnolia. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to the Magnolia Regional Medical Center Foundation or the American Cancer Society Bladder Cancer Research Center.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Humphreys, Travis Foster, Jeff Jones, Chris Campbell and Jessica Landry.
