The Haywood

El Dorado's new hotel, The Haywood, takes its name from the late Charles Haywood Murphy, founder of Murphy Oil Corporation.

The Haywood opened in El Dorado on Tuesday.

The $15 million, 70-room boutique hotel is owned by Newmark Moses Tucker Partners of Little Rock. The hotel at 210 S. Washington was developed with involvement from local investors.

It is part of the Hilton hotel chain’s "Tapestry Collection.”

The Haywood is located in the center of the Murphy Arts District. Amenities include The Well, a bar featuring tapas–style plates, cocktails, wine and craft beer. It also has a breakfast café and an outdoor pool.

A hotel den with a wood burning fireplace, sofas, lounge chairs and an open lobby view is next to The Well.

The four-floor hotel has rooms with double queen beds, and king beds.

Clark Contractors was the general contractor working from architectural plans by AMR Architects, and interior design by Shelby Cotton.

BancorpSouth provided financing. Little Rock-based Beachwood-Pinnacle Hospitality will manage the hotel.
