Two Star City residents died in a wreck early Sunday.

Two people were killed and a third person was injured as the result of a two-vehicle collision about 12:51 a.m. Sunday.

The wreck happened on a stretch of Arkansas 530 near the Lincoln-Cleveland County line, midway between Star City and Pine Bluff.

According to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report, Destiny Bowman, 23, of Hamburg was northbound on the highway when the 2016 Chevrolet Camero she was driving crossed the center line. Her car struck a southbound 1992 GMC Vandura.

The two occupants of the Vandura, driver Diana Bailey, 34, and passenger William Lynn, 28, both of Star City, were killed. Lynn died at the scene and Bailey died at 3:53 a.m. at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

The weather was clear but the road was wet.

Trooper Terrell Pratt investigated the accident for the Arkansas State Police.
