Heat advisory

Look for afternoon temperatures Saturday to again climb into the mid and upper 90s across much of the region. When combined with the humidity, heat indices will range from 105-110 degrees.

A heat advisory will remain in effect through 7 p.m. Saturday.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport said an upper level heat ridge will remain in place across the Four State Region through the weekend.

High temperatures will continue in the mid to upper 90s with heat index values ranging from 105 to 110 degrees. Limited relief overnight with lows into the mid and upper 70s.

High heat index readings will increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.

Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms will remain possible across southern Arkansas and northern Louisiana through the weekend, with some storms producing brief but very strong wind gusts.

Dangerously hot temperatures to continue mainly into the middle and upper 90s. This will lead to afternoon heat indices at or above 105 degrees.
