Three killed

Three people died and two people were hurt Saturday in a wreck near De Queen.

Two cars collided south of De Queen about 4:20 p.m. Saturday, killing a Horatio couple and one of their children, and injuring another child and the driver of the second vehicle.

According to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report, the cars were on Arkansas 41 when a northbound 2016 Dodge Ram, driven by Justin Williams, 25, of Taylor, TX, crossed the center line and struck the front of a southbound 2013 model Buick Enclave, driven by Jessica Baig, 32, of Horatio.

The Baig vehicle overturned several times, coming to rest upright.

Killed were Baig and her husband, Farhan Baig, 35, and one of their daughters, Lillian Baig. Another Baig daughter who was not identified in the Arkansas State Police report was injured and taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Williams was injured and taken to Wadley Medical Center in TEXarkana.

According to the Facebook pages of both Farham Baig and Jessica Baig, both had attended Southern Arkansas University. Mrs. Baig was a teacher with the McLeod, TX, Independent School District.

The weather was clear and the road was dry.
