A Nashville, Arkansas couple was killed Saturday afternoon in a traffic accident in Hope.

The collision occurred around 4:27 p.m. at 901 North Hervey in front of Super 1 Foods when a white pick-up truck traveling south bumped into a Chevy Tahoe and spun out of control crashing into a Honda Accord that was headed north. The pick-up then went off the east side of the roadway and into a ditch.

Cecil and Mary Harris had to be extricated from the Accord by the Hope Fire Department. They were both transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Hope by Pafford EMS where they died from their injuries. Both were pronounced dead by Hempstead County Coroner Ben Brazzel.
