Two people were killed and a third was injured in a collision involving a log truck and a pick-up truck on Arkansas 27B in Nashville about 9:16 a.m. Wednesday.

According to a preliminary report, two passengers in the pick-up died. They were Lisa F. Mitchell, 49, of 1615 Inverness, Lansing, Michigan, and Barbara Wynn, 48, of 1114 S. Pope, Nashville. Injured was the pick-up’s driver, Douglas Bullock, 54, 3581 Arkansas 26 West, Nashville.

The report said Bullock was driving a 2001 model Dodge truck south on 27B when he made a U-turn. The pick-up was struck by the log truck where 27B and Arkansas 27 merge. The driver of the Western Star truck, Donald R. Dixon, 40, 6408 Bel Air Drive, Texarkana, Texas, was not hurt.

Bullock was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hot Springs.

The weather was clear and the road was dry when the wreck happened.
