Bodies of three people were found Sunday in a rural area of Red River County, TX, apparently a day after they were killed in an explosion at a house.

The Red River County Sheriff’s Office in Clarksville said deputies were dispatched about 1:35 p.m. Sunday to a house at a private road in the Johntown area.

Officers responded after receiving a 911 call that there had been an explosion at a house with three people possibly inside.

It was believed that the explosion happened about 7 p.m. Saturday. First responders were notified when a family member went Sunday to check on a loved one that they had not been able to reach since Saturday.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.

The names of the deceased have not been released.

Responding agencies also included the Bogata, Talco, Pari and Longview fire departments, Bogata police, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the State Fire Marshal and the Texas Highway Department.
