Two Hot Springs residents died Sunday when their vehicle veered across a median on Interstate 30 in Clark County, striking another vehicle.

A preliminary Arkansas State Police report said that Tyler Carter, 21, 205 Lorado Loop, was driving a 2007 model Toyota Corolla east on the highway when it left the road and cut across the median, where it was struck by a westbound Volvo S80 driven by Devyan Henderson, 23, 19000 Pleasant Ridge, Little Rock.

Carter’s passenger, Donovan I. Fernandez, 19, 189 Frontier Trail, died at the scene. Carter died more than an hour after the wreck.

Henderson and his passenger, Rache Henderson, 27, 5 Village Grove Road, were injured and taken to Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.

The wreck happened at 12:17 p.m. at the 68-mile marker south of Arkadelphia.

It was raining at the time of the wreck.

Cpl. Sammy Hart investigated the accident for the Arkansas State Police.
