A three-vehicle wreck Friday night in Chicot County killed one driver and left four other people injured.
The wreck happened on U.S. 65 on the north side of Eudora about 10:40 p.m.
According to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report, Patrick F. Scott, 55, of Eudora was driving a 2013 Chrysler 300 south on the highway when he attempted to pass a 2019 Kia Rio, driven by Chikyiah Keyara Wiley, 22, of Monroe, LA.
Scott’s car hit a northbound 2015 Volvo tractor-trailer head on. The big rig was driven by Terry Flowers, 27, of Ruleville, MS.
The Wiley vehicle was struck after the vehicles driven by Scott and Flowers collided.
Scott was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene.
Flowers and Wiley were also injured and taken to Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. Two of Wiley’s passengers, Darren Lamar Toney, 35, of Lake Village and an unidentified minor were also hurt and taken to the Lake Village hospital.
The weather was clear and the road was dry.
Trooper Tyler Gentry investigated the accident.
