Oil and Gas: Petro-Chem will re-enter Lowery No. 1 to depth of 9,100 feet

Oil and gas drilling activity in South Arkansas during the two-week period ended Friday, according to the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission:

Drilling Permits

Bonanza Creek Energy Resources LLC is the operator and Reliance Well Services is the contractor for two wells in the Dorcheat-Macedonia Field of Columbia County. Total permit depths for both wells will be 8,800 feet in the Cotton Valley Zone.

The Souter-Whitlow No. 6 will be 1,009 feet FNL and 2,268 feet FWL in Section 21-18S-21W. Work will start June 13.

The McWilliams No. 5 will be 1,644 feet FNL and 285 feet FWL in Section 17-18S-21W. Work will start June 27.

Jerry Langley Oil Company LLC of Smackover is the operator and Sewell Drilling LLC is the contractor for the Gamble No. 1, 1,041 feet FSL and 2,372 feet FWL in Section 12-16S-17W in the Smackover Field of Union County. Permit depth is to 2,800 feet in the Blossom Zone. Work will start as soon as possible.

Petro-Chem Operating of Shreveport is the operator and Fran Drilling is the contractor for the re-entry of the Lowery No. 1, 1,000 feet FSL and 1,000 feet FEL in Section 19-19S-16W in the Laney Road Field of Union County. Permit depth is to 9,106 feet in the Cameron Sand. Work will start in mid-June.

Well Completions

Bonanza Creek Energy Resources LLC has completed the following wells in the Dorcheat-Macedonia Field of Columbia County.

Dorcheat Unit No. 62 has a surface hole location 1,710 feet FNL and 1,979 feet FEL, and a bottom hole location 1,104 feet FNL and 2,356 feet FEL, in Section 15-18S-22W. True vertical depth was 8,847 feet, measured depth was 8,800 feet, and plug back total depth was 8,727 feet in the Cotton Valley Zone, with perforations between 8,030 and 8,674 feet. Daily production is 42 barrels of oil and 322 mcf of natural gas. The well was completed April 21.

Dorcheat Unit No. 63 has a surface hole location 1,005 feet FNL and 1,638 feet FWL and a bottom hole location 1,539 feet FNL and 2,113 feet FWL in Section 12-18S-22W. True vertical depth was 8,800 feet. Measured depth was 8,865 feet. Plug back total depth was 8,720 feet in the Cotton Valley Zone, with perforations between 8,032 and 8,614 feet. Daily production is 80 barrels and 458 mcf. Work was completed May 1.

Franks-Norwood No. 5 has a surface hole location 2,350 feet FSL and 531 feet FEL, and a bottom hole location 2,338 feet FSL and 285 feet FEL in Section 16-18S-21W. Total depth was 8,800 feet with a measured depth of 8,815 feet and a plug-back total depth of 8,600 feet in the Cotton Valley Zone, with perforations between 7,715 and 8,278 feet. Daily production is 34 barrels of oil and 501 mcf of gas. Work was finished April 26.

Whitehead-McWilliams No. 5 has a surface hole location 908 feet FSL and 2,504 feet FWL and a bottom hole location 1,023 feet FSL and 2,328 feet FEL in Section 18-18S-21W. Total depth was 8,791 feet and measured depth was 8,817 feet, with a plug back total depth of 8,690 feet in the Cotton Valley Zone, with perforations between 7,757 and 8,668 feet. Daily production is 12 barrels and 187 mcf. Work was finished May 11.

Triple N Oil LLC of Smackover has completed the Hegwood No. 2, 725 feet FNL and 2,356 feet FEL in Section 24-16S16W in the Smackover Field of Union County. Total depth was to 2,816 feet in the Blossom Zone, with perforations between 2,670 and 2,673 in the Blossom Zone. Daily production is 4 barrels of 22-gravity oil. The well was completed Oct. 20, 2011.

Red Oak Operating LLC of Magnolia has completed the Crumpler No 1, 1,755 feet FNL and 280 feet FWL in Section 16-17S-19W in the Village Field of Columbia County. Total depth was 4,817 feet and plug-back total depth was 4,730 feet in the Pettet Zone, with perforations between 3,976 and 3,980 feet. Daily production is 12 barrels of 33-gravity oil. Work was finished March 24.

LaRay Oil LLC of Smackover has completed the Evans-Danzinger No. 5, 280 feet FSL and 1,900 feet FEL in Section 19-15S-16W in the Smackover Field of Ouachita County. Total depth was 2,810 feet, and plug-back total depth was 2,550 feet in the Meakin Zone, with perforations between 2,338 and 2,344 feet. Daily production is 1.5 barrels of 27-gravity oil. Work was finished May 10.

Don Mason & Son LLC of Norphlet has completed the Julia Murphy No. 11 saltwater disposal well, 1,068 feet FNL and 410 feet FWL in Section 17-16S-15 in the Smackover Field of Union County. Total depth was to 2,915 feet in the Graves Zone, with perforations between 2,524 and 2,544 feet. Work was finished May 9.

Recompletions and Workovers

Bonanza Creek Energy Resources LLC has completed the workovers of the following wells, all in the Dorcheat-Macedonia Field of Columbia County, and all into the Cotton Valley Zone.

Foreman-Ford No. 3, section 21-18S-21W, drilled to a total depth of 8,333 feet, with perforations between 7,461 and 8,284 feet. Daily production is 13 barrels and 186 mcf. Work was finished April 4.

Dorcheat Unit No. 53, Section 12-18S-22W, drilled to a total depth of 8,540 feet, with perforations between 6,814 and 8,508 feet. Daily production is 10 barrels of oil and 7 mcf of gas. Work was finished March 16.

Smith-Souter No. 4, Section 21-18S-21W, drilled to a total depth of 8,745, with perforations between 6,595 and 8,576 feet. Daily production is 21 barrels and 79 mcf. Work was finished May 4.

Dorcheat Unit No. 31, Section 10-18S-22W, drilled to a total depth of 8,590 feet with perforations between 6,661 and 8,575 feet. Daily production is 13 barrels and 35 mcf. Work was finished May 1.

Formby No. 5, Section 13-18S-22W, drilled to 8,680 feet with perforations between 6,810 and 8,615 feet. Daily production is 45 barrels and 55 mcf. Work was finished May 2.
