In July of 1975, Dr. Eddie McDonnell, a Magnolia optometrist, purchased a 1974 Jaguar XKE OTS from Continental Cars of Little Rock.
McDonnell says,” It was the last Jaguar. The owner of the dealership was going to keep it for himself but decided to let me purchase the vehicle.”
McDonnell added, “I was only 31 years old at the time I purchased the car.”
Since that date, McDonnell has been the Jaguar’s only owner and driver.
The sports car only had 51,000 miles on the odometer.
A year ago, McDonnell decided to sell his Jaguar and was referred to a Hot Springs builder and mechanic who specializes in exotic automobile repair.
Repairman Troy Muncrief of Hot Springs was contacted about completeing some engine work.
McDonnell paid more than $10,000 worth of work to Muncrief. Muncrief alleges McDonnell owed an additional $2,600.
McDonnell agreed to let Muncrief take the Jaguar to Russo and Steele Auctions in Scottsdale, Arizona.
