The driver of a motorcycle died about 7:37 p.m. Friday in a collision on U.S. 79 in Camden.
According to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report, the driver of a 2017 model Kia Sportage, who was southbound on the highway, pulled over to the shoulder of the road and then attempted to turn around.
The Kia turned into the path of a 2002 model Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by Austin Porter, 24, of Camden. Porter died at the scene.
One minor passenger in the car was injured and taken to Ouachita Regional Medical Center. The driver of the Kia and another passenger in the car were not hurt, and were not identified in the State Police report.
The weather was clear and the road was dry.
Trooper 1st Class John Parker investigated the accident for the Arkansas State Police.
Porter is survived by his parents, two brothers and a sister. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
