Kentrell Hill was 45 when he was sentenced to 135 years in prison.

Governor Asa Hutchinson has announced his intent to grant a sentence commutation to a man convicted of multiple crimes in Ouachita County.

Kentrell L. Hill, 60, was convicted of delivery of a controlled substance (two counts), possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (one count, habitual offender, Y Felony), possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (one count, habitual offender, Y Felony), possession of a controlled substance second offense (habitual offender, D Felony), possession of drug paraphernalia (habitual offender, C Felony), maintaining a drug premises (habitual offender, D Felony) and distributing near certain facilities sentence enhancement (three counts).

Hill was convicted in Ouachita County in 2005 and sentenced to a total of 420 months in the Department of Correction on counts 1 through 3

consecutive to each other, 72 months in the Department of Correction on count 3, 144 months in the Department of Correction on count 4, 72 months in the Department of Correction on count 5 concurrent, and 120 months in the Department of Correction on counts 6 through 8 consecutive to each other and consecutive to AC-001 for a total of

1,620 months or 135 years in Department of Correction, making him immediately eligible for parole.

There are no law enforcement objections to Hill’s request.

The governor also recently approved five and two other commutations.

pardons, and three commutations. An additional 46 clemency requests were denied and one had no action taken upon them. These include requests from both inmates and non-inmates.

The applicants intended for pardons have completed all jail time, fulfilled all parole and probationary requirements and paid all fines related to their sentences.

There is a 30-day waiting period to receive public feedback on the notices before final action is taken.
