Separate accidents in North Louisiana on Sunday killed two people
Shortly before 2:15 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on Louisiana 33 south of Farmerville. The crash claimed the life of a woman from Arcadia.
The initial investigation revealed a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant, driven by Christian Kinsey, 33, was traveling north on Louisiana 33. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a ditch embankment. After striking the ditch, the vehicle became airborne and then struck a tree.
Kinsey, who was unrestrained, was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
A wreck in Morehouse Parish on U.S. 165 north of Mer Rouge about 12:15 p.m. Sunday killed a Bastrop man.
A 1994 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Elbert Harden, 61, was traveling south on U.S. 165, when for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line into the path of a Ford Expedition. After impact, the Expedition ran off the road and became engulfed in flames.
Harden, who was properly restrained, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passengers of the Expedition were all taken to a local hospital with injuries.
