Claiborne parishes

Lawmen in Webster and Claiborne parishes have arrested two men on drug charges.

Two men have been arrested on drug trafficking charges in Claiborne Parish, LA.

The Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that Spence Willis of Homer and Charles Stewart of Minden were charged in separate cases.

Members of the Homer Police Department Street Crimes Unit, working together with CNET, culminated a two-month undercover investigation with the execution of search and arrest warrants.

On November 6, Homer police, CNET agents and Claiborne Parish officers executed search and arrest warrants at Willis’ home at 157 Hunter Street in Homer.

The warrants came as the result of an investigation into methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and synthetic marijuana distribution by Willis at that location. During the investigation, SCU and CNET agents were able to make multiple purchases of narcotics from Willis.

Willis was arrested on warrants for three counts of distribution of Schedule II controlled substance (two counts distribution of methamphetamine and one count distribution of crack cocaine) and one count of distribution of Schedule I controlled substance (synthetic marijuana). Additional charges stemming from drug items discovered are possession of Schedule I controlled substance, synthetic marijuana, and possession of Schedule II controlled substance, meth.

Willis’ bond is set at $125,500.

In another case, CNET agents along with Homer police, the Webster Parish Narcotics Task Force, and Louisiana State Police Narcotics culminated a three-month investigation into methamphetamine trafficking with the arrest of a Webster Parish man identified as Charles Stewart.

In September of this year, CNET and SCU and investigators received information from a reliable source of information that Stewart was transporting methamphetamine from Minden to Homer, and distributing the drug to various people around the Parish.

Investigators were able to purchase significant quantities of methamphetamine from Stewart which he delivered to Claiborne Parish each time. On 10-30-2019, CNET agents obtained arrest warrants for Stewart for distribution of Schedule II CDS, methamphetamine.

Stewart was arrested in Webster Parish on November 6. His bond is set at $100,000.
