Columbia County Judge Larry Atkinson has moved his office into the former County Clerk office on the first floor of the Courthouse. The judge's office has up to this point been a rather oddly-configured suite. The County Clerk office recently moved to the new County Annex on Boundary Street. We miss not having the other county offices downtown, but the change to the Annex does not appear to have affected parking. The square is as busy as ever.
We dropped by the County Collector’s office on Wednesday – the day after the property tax payment deadline. Kinda like Christmas Day at Walmart.

We offer six answer options but only three are receiving substantial votes – all at roughly the same weight. The kindest option is that the team and the coaches need more time to gel. Poor coaching and the lack of an SEC-quality program are also receiving lots of votes. Very few people assign the problems to poor recruiting, or poor athletes.
It’s nice to be recognized. The U.S. Navy’s next generation of submarines is known as the “Columbia” class. Start of construction of the first boat in the class, the USS Columbia, is several years away and deployment won’t happen until 2031.
