Dallas Police have released photographs of a suspect in the shooting death of a former Waldo resident.

Willie Earl Wright Jr. died about 10:36 p.m. Sunday, August 2 at a Dallas hospital. He died two days after he was mortally wounded in a shooting in the 3200 block of North Buckner near John West Road in East Dallas.

The suspect has not been named but two photographs from a convenience store camera, and a photograph of the suspect’s vehicle, have been released. The suspect is a black male with a goatee. He was last seen wearing a red Houston Rockets baseball cap.

The suspect vehicle is a silver-colored SUV.

Police haven’t made clear whether they are searching for more than one suspect.

At 5:06 p.m. Friday, July 31, Dallas police arrived at the scene of a shooting. They found a white-colored Mercury Grand Marquis, with several bullet holes, stationary in the northbound lanes on North Buckner.

Wright, 28, was sitting in the driver’s seat. He was unresponsive and had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
