An unusual summer-time cold front will drop southward across the Four State area later Friday with thunderstorms possible into the early afternoon hours.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport said a few of the storms will be strong with an isolated risk of severe thunderstorms. The primary threats with thunderstorms will be damaging winds, frequent lightning and heavy downpours.

The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low for the Saturday-Thursday period.

South Arkansas, including Columbia County, had been under a severe thunderstorm watch that was discontinued early Friday.
