Dog bite

A Magnolia child was bitten by a dog on Tuesday.

Magnolia police are investigating a dog-bite case.

Police Chief Todd Dew said officers were called to the Magnolia Regional Medical Center Emergency Room about 9 p.m. Tuesday about a young boy who had been bitten by a pit bull at his family’s home on Frances Street.

The wound broke the boy’s skin.

Dew said the child was injured while in his back yard, where the dog was pinned.

A citation was issued to the dog’s owner – the boy’s father – for violation of Magnolia’s vicious dog ordinance.
