The Magnolia Police Department is appealing for help to solve the murder of Marquis Q. Easter on Monday, December 23.
“The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the death of Marquis Easter was caused by multiple gunshot wounds. The autopsy results have not been completed as of this report. Detectives are actively investigating this homicide. No arrest has been made at this time. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Magnolia Police Department,” Police Chief Todd Dew said in a statement.

Easter’s body was found at about 8:46 p.m. in burning brush along a dirt trail that connects houses on the far east end of East McNeil to Parkway Street.
The investigation began as a response by the Magnolia Fire Department to a small brush fire in the wooded area through which the trail runs. Police arrived first and found the body.
Easter, 29, is survived by his wife, Natlie Easter; parents, C.L. Manning and Detris Beal; three stepchildren, brother, sister, two stepbrothers and other relatives
The Easter case is Magnolia’s only murder of 2019.
