The COVID-19 virus continues to cause problems beyond illnesses and the 19 related deaths in Columbia County.
Mule Kick, a restaurant on North Jackson Street near Southern Arkansas University, said Wednesday on its Facebook page that one of its employees had tested positive for the virus.
“Out of an abundance of caution we bill be closed for at least the next seven days. After seven days, we will reassess the situation and may open the drive-thru, if deemed prudent. All activities and events are postponed for the next two weeks, with the hopes of resuming activities for Halloween,” the statement said.
Magnolia Middle School’s eighth-grade football team has cancelled its Thursday night home football game against Hot Springs due to COVID-19. The ninth-grade game will be played at 6 p.m.
On Wednesday, the Magnolia School District reported eight active COVID-19 cases in the district, including three staff members and five students.
