Magnolia woman dies

Katie Petitto, 35, died early Monday in an apparent drowning at her home.

Katie Petitto, deputy Columbia County Circuit Clerk, was found dead at her home at 513 Margaret Street in Magnolia on Monday morning.

Petitto, 35, was discovered in a swimming pool at the residence at about 6:42 a.m. Magnolia police and the Columbia County Ambulance Service were dispatched.

Petitto lived in the home with her mother, Jane Alexander, a Magnolia pharmacist.

Petitto was a graduate of Magnolia High School. She received a bachelor general studies degree from Southern Arkansas University in December 2009.

She was the team leader in Circuit Clerk Phyllis Disotell’s office for Criminal, Juvenile, Civil, Domestic and Probate Court.

Her body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Little Rock to determine a cause of death.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Lewis Funeral Home of Magnolia.
