The first McDonalds restaurant built in Magnolia has been leveled.
Demolition crews flattened the restaurant at the intersection of East Main and North Frederick last week to make way for a new McDonalds that will rise in its place.
Steve and Celia Montgomery, who have owned the Magnolia store since 2011, hope to reopen by mid-September.
The former store on East Main was constructed in 1982.
Features of the new building will include a larger lobby, ordering kiosks in the lobby with an attendant to help customers, a two-lane drive-through system, new kitchen features and equipment, and entrances with vestibules on two sides of the building.
