A detailed look at the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System. The chassis and launcher are produced in Camden.

Lockheed Martin Corp.’s Camden facility will share in a $492,108,514 fixed-price-incentive contract.

The contract is for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) M142 launchers and support requirements to include Product Data Definition Package Maintenance, training, support equipment, qualification testing, initial spares/repair parts and software.

One bid was solicited with one bid received.

Work will be performed in Camden and 10 other locations.

HIMARS is a lightweight mobile launcher, transportable via C-130 and larger aircraft for rapid deployment, that fires Guided MLRS and TACMS munitions. HIMARS consists of a launcher loader module and fire-control system mounted on a standard five-ton truck chassis. A specialized armored cab provides additional protection to the three occupants who operate the system.

The HIMARS chassis and launcher are produced in Camden.

The estimated completion date of May 30, 2023. Fiscal 2019 operations and maintenance, Army funds in the amount of $66,404,293 were obligated at the time of the award. U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, AL, is the contracting activity.
